“TTG is the only effective counter
to the coming deluge of AI images.”
Comparing solutions
“Nice try, but no”
1. Visual detection is not a realistic solution to the AI deluge.
It is easy (even with a smartphone) to put AI elements into photographs without detection by viewers.
2. AI detectors often do not detect AI.
The detection rate is likely to go down even more as AI evolves.
3. Laws requiring disclosure of AI use would be unenforceable.
It’s ’way too late anyway: there already are billions of unlabeled AI-infused images out there.
4. Voluntary precautions by AI companies are a non-starter.
(There are as of yet no relevant examples to point to.)
So what’s the solution?
“Find trustworthy image sources.”
The only reliable way to do this is with repeated trust tests.
TTG makes things easy for image providers who care about their credibility: a discreet “TTG” can be tucked into any photo credit almost as subtly as a copyright © symbol.
For their part, once viewers know to look for that little “TTG,” they have a handy tool for assessing the image provider’s trustworthiness.
“No one can stop the flood of AI-generated images.
“But TTG was created
to help the public find
‘islands of trust’
in the sea of AI slop.”
