In order to meet P8 of the Trust Test, photographers must use the TTG-IC version of the TTG label when they depict animals of typically wild species that are photographed in less-than-fully-wild conditions

EXCEPT...

— When the “less-than-fully wild“ conditions are immediately apparent to the viewer from the photo (for example, it is instantly visible that the animal is in a tank, behind a fence, inside a zoo enclosure, etc.)

AND/OR...

— When the “less-than-fully-wild” conditions are clear from the context where the photo is published (f0r example, an article about a particular wildlife preserve, a webpage about a zoo, etc.).

Of course, to qualify for the TTG label, any animal photograph must fully meet all nine requirements of the Trust Test.

That means that many changes that are often done to wildlife photographs cannot be performed or the photo will not qualify as TTG: backgrounds and foregrounds cannot be non-optically blurred or softened, catchlights in eyes cannot be added or removed, etc.
