Who judges

. . . whether a photo is TTG qualified?

  • Answer: The photographer. Always.

    Only the creator of each photograph can make the final call, with input from peers, editors, and viewers as warranted (online photo commentators may also choose to comment).

    TTG uses a “bottom-up” model, not a “top-down” model. That means that no one anywhere — and no organization — ever has a “watchdog” or “seal of approval” role over photographers’ decisions regarding the TTG label.

    Note that publishers are never obligated to actually publish dubious TTG-labeled photos; see “H” in TTG Plus > Publishing for details.

  • ttg.photos never judges photos

    This website is merely an information resource; it is never a judge.

    ttg.photos NEVER judges whether any photograph meets any of the 9 requirements of the Trust Test.

    Requests emailed to TTG asking whether a particular photograph does or does not qualify for TTG will be ignored; sorry.

  • . . . and no one else ever judges photos on TTG’s behalf

    Photo-manipulation issues can only be sorted out between photographers, their publishers, and a vigilant public (including online photo commentators such as bloggers and vloggers).

    ttg.photos NEVER serves as a “consultant” with anyone anywhere about whether a photograph is qualified for the TTG label. Any claims to the contrary can be disregarded without hesitation.

    This website (ttg.photos) plays absolutely zero advisory, supervisory, acceptance/rejection, or adjudicatory role with respect to any photographs submitted to any publication, website, contest sponsor, or any other organization that chooses to put before the public any TTG-labeled photographs.
