As listed in #4 of TTG's Allowable Changes

What are “lens/camera anomalies”?

“Lens/camera anomalies” are visual effects and artifacts that are often perceived as undesirable flaws caused by the lens or camera used to record a photograph.

Because practices, perceptions, and preferences vary, TTG allows (see #4) for lens/camera anomalies to be left as is, to be partially corrected, or to be fully corrected.

• The combined result of all changes must meet P7 of the Trust Test.

• Lens/camera anomalies cannot be added, accentuated, or simulated or the result is disqualified by P2 and P7.

Common lens/camera anomalies:

• barrel and pincushion distortion (bpd)
• combinations of bpd, such as “mustache” distortion
• corner and edge darkening (also known as “light falloff”)
• digital noise
• banding
• moire
• the random faulty pixel
• lens flare and internal reflections
• chromatic aberration and purple fringing
