focus maximization

“Focus maximization” (required by P3) is a term used for photographs made by combining multiple exposures:

it refers to the depiction of everything as “in focus” as can be based on the multiple exposures used to make the image.

Maximizing focus — that is, removing smartphone added “fokeh” because fokeh disqualifies photos from TTG — is usually a simple matter for photographers who let their device automatically combine exposures.

The TTG photographer simply selects whichever option has the most “depth of field” (that is, the deepest range of focus, from near to far).

(Undoing any “Portrait mode” blur effects on a smartphone usually just involves moving the slider to the highest-number “aperture” available.)
