Saturation
“Saturation” refers to the vividness of colors as they are depicted in a photograph. It is easy to change the vividness/saturation of colors even on a smartphone.
There are many levels of saturation in photographs, including:
• “highly saturated”
(neon/glowing colors)
• “normal saturation”
(what most cameras render with normal settings)
• “largely desaturated”
(muted or faint pastels)
• “completely desaturated”
(monochrome/black-and-white).
