“information-reportage standards”
The “information-reportage standards” of respected international news agencies are designated the standard for TTG photos (see P7 and P8).
Those “information-reportage” standards usually incorporate the same non-doctoring policies of those agencies’ “news-reportage” standards, but with more leeway than “hard news” departments allow in areas like “subject manipulation” (which by itself does not disqualify photographs from TTG if viewers are aware of it).
TTG photographers can also look to the website of most any respected newspaper to see examples of TTG-qualified “information reportage” photographs:
• Examples of photographs that are usually TTG-qualified can be found in the news, business, science, and sports sections of newspapers.
• But photographs that are NOT qualified for TTG are routinely found in travel, real-estate, food, lifestyle, and feature sections of newspapers.
