“doctored”
Generally speaking, a doctored photograph is a photo that is changed to show “anything other than what the camera lens saw at the moment the picture was taken” (as judged by rinairs).
The formal definition of “doctored”:
Photographs are considered “doctored” — and cannot meet the Trust Test — any time
1) that they undergo any changes other than TTG’s Allowable Changes
OR
2) when performing any of those Allowable Changes results in failure to meet P7.
This definition is not arbitrary, unlike a lot of the definitions floating around out there:
• The #1 part of the definition reflects a worldwide consensus.
• The #2 part of the definition is based on the standards of the world’s largest providers of trusted photographs.
